Teri Brooks, Managing Director

Teri Brooks has been helping clients build superior leadership teams for over 20 years. Before joining Albertini Group, Teri was a Senior Advisor with the Boston Consulting Group for their Organization Practice. Prior to BCG, Teri was an executive with American Airlines.

Teri started her career at American Airlines, where she was served as both VP/Head of Human Resources and VP/Treasurer of the airline. As head of human resources, Teri had responsibility for recruiting for both American Airlines and Sabre. She also had responsibility for the information technology group that created Sabre’s travel distribution system, as well as all other human resource functions; the aviation medical group, and an awardwinning employee suggestion program. Teri’s leadership development programs were the subject of two case studies created by Gary Loveman, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at Harvard Business School and now Chairman of Caesar’s Entertainment. Professor Loveman used the case studies in his Advanced Leadership Seminars for senior human resource executives and in MBA classes at Harvard College.

As Treasurer, Teri had responsibility for global cash management, corporate finance, insurance and risk management for the airline. She found $1 billion in new funding and started the airline’s derivatives hedging function. She also reported into CEO Robert Crandall as she led a corporate-wide cost reduction program which saved $100 million.

After American Airlines, Teri joined the Boston Consulting Group as a senior advisor in human resources in the Organization practice. She assisted the CEO of the largest U.S. commercial vehicle manufacturer in developing leadership competencies for his team, a new performance management program, and the company’s first leadership training program. Teri also helped the CEO of the largest U.S. energy trading group develop a plan for achieving his goal of doubling revenues over the next three years by identifying key gaps in his organization’s capabilities towards meeting the goals.

As part of the Albertini Group, Teri has helped clients build superior executive leadership teams in a wide variety of industries, including technology, manufacturing, consumer products, and professional services. With her background in leadership development and strategy, Teri specializes in finding the right match of talent and culture to ensure organizational success.

Throughout her career, Teri has developed a skill for spotting successful executives early in their career and nurturing their talent. Three current CEO’s, four CFO’s, eight CHRO’s, and over 25 current vice presidents at twenty different organizations all worked for Teri at one point earlier in their careers. Teri holds a BA from Furman University, a MM from Northwestern, and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
